The highest peak of Großraming and the year-round managed Ennser Hütte are a must in the National Park Region Ennstal. From the Bamacher parking lot, the trail goes steadily uphill through forests to the Ennser Hütte and then to the Almkogel.
Trail number: 492
Directions:
This hike leads to the highest peak of Großraming, the Almkogel with 1513 m. There are two ascent options, either from the train station Großraming on the hiking trail 492, about 3 hours to the Ennser Hütte (1,293 m) or by car to the parking lot Bamacher. From there still about 1 hour to the hut. The summit at Almkogel (1,513 m) can then be reached in 45 minutes.
A magnificent view over the Kalkalpen National Park and the surrounding mountain world reward the ascent.
Variants:
- Transition Schüttbauernalm or Anlaufalm on the Dürrensteig ridge - very demanding, only for experienced hikers.
- Descent to Küpfern
- via Danzersteig to Gschwendtalm
- Circular hike from Nina Hütte to Burgspitz and over the ridge to Almkogel
Tip:
Refugial area with rare plant species and geological feature "Weyrer Bögen".
