The eventful Karl-Hausjell-Allee is a cooperation project between schools, associations and the municipality of Schörfling am Attersee!
The Karl-Hausjell-Allee invites you to walk along typical regional pear trees, such as the varieties Hoandlbirn, Grünmöstler, Rote Lederbirne, Grüne Pichlbirne, Bratbirne, Winawitzbirne or Landlbirne. These young trees were newly planted and in the old stock there are also trees of the varieties Frühbirne, Kochbirne, Steirische Weinmostbirne... and also a few indeterminable wildlings. The Hausjell Avenue recreation and adventure space opened on May 22, 2019, International Biodiversity Day.
The planning and organization of the path:
The initiative for this came from the Verschönerungsverein Schörfling, whose chairman Hans Schinkowitsch organized the new planting and carried it out with club colleagues. On the way two resting benches are available, which make dreaming under the fruit possible. Information boards show the ecological value and the biological diversity of this unique orchard avenue.
Attersee-Attergau Nature Park
"We accompany the project in terms of planning and content, as this scattered fruit avenue is unique in the nature park region. This not only secures the fruit genetic resources, but also makes an important contribution to the preservation of biodiversity in the Attersee-Traunsee Nature Park. " is Clemens Schnaitl from the nature park management enthusiastic about the commitment of all involved.
Ready for a quiz?
Extensive research work made it possible for the NMS Schörfling to prepare the project with an interesting quiz on the cider pear trees of the Karl-Hausjell-Allee.
Where does the Landl pear get its name from? What can the green Winawitz pear be used for? When does the roast pear ripen? What are the differences between pome and stone fruit? Well - curious now? Here you can test yourself!
