With the Art Nouveau railcar from Gmundner Bahnhof through the villa district to the Esplanade, over the Traunbrücke to Seebahnhof and back.

A pleasure like in the days of the emperor! On the route of what used to be the smallest, but is still one of the steepest trams in the world, you travel through the beautiful Traunsee town of Gmunden.

A unique esperience with the art nouveau railcar GM 5 (built 1911) along the most beautiful squares of Gmunden (route Gmunden railway station - villa quarter - Esplanade - town hall square - lake railway station & return).

How to get to the Nostalgie Tram to Gmunden in the Traunsee-Almtal region:

We recommend travelling by public transport!

By train:
Via Attnang-Puchheim station to Gmunden station. Numerous connections from Attnang-Puchheim station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101) or via Gmunden to the Salzkammergut railway in the direction of Bad Ischl, Hallstatt and Bad Aussee. From Vorchdorf with the Traunsee Tram (line 161) from Stern & Hafferl to the stop Gmunden Bahnhof or Gmunden Seebahnhof.

by bus:
OÖVV bus lines 507, 505 or 533 as well as city bus lines from Gmunden, bus stop Gmunden Bahnhof

by bike:
The two stops Gmunden Bahnhof or Gmunden Seebahnhof are also easily accessible by bike. The Traunvierteltour leads directly past Gmunden Seebahnhof station, the R4 Traunradweg is also quickly accessible at the Traunbrücke bridge and R 2 Salzkammergutradweg leads approx. 500 metres past Gmunden station.
